The duties of the VP - Political Education shall include the following:

1. to encourage members to run for office or serve on committees of State or National affiliated unions.
2. to be responsible for forming and chairing the COPE Committee;
3. to be responsible for informing the membership of all political issues that may effect the GTFF;
4. to encourage members to make voluntary payroll deductions to the COPE fund, and;
5. to be responsible for communication and lobbying of elected representatives of local, state, and federal offices.
